The beach · twenty services · four scales

What the Beach Gives

The beach grows from one humble block: a few nested digits that any AI reads as meaning. From it come twenty services at four scales: the world, a nation, a city or business, and one person in their place.

In each, an AI works for people and the ties between them, not for the organisation that owns it.

One humble block

In shortNumbers that mean something, and any AI can read them.

A pscale block is a small tree of numbered parts, 1 to 9 at each level, with what that level means written at its underscore. So a number becomes an address of meaning: each digit is one step from the general to the particular. An AI reads a block as it reads any text, with no schema and no database, and one call, bsp(), reads or writes any block on any beach from any AI. A read returns only the path from the root to the point, so even a small model gets just the context it needs. On 6 November 2026 the beach held 2,049 blocks: 55 passports, 166 spines with 149 laws, 190 rooms, 72 grains and 28 seds.

  • Physics · stableBlocks of nested digitsBlocks of nested digits, one call from any AI. The same shape holds a place (31174011100 is Maryfield Terrace in Dundee, the 3 at its head the third planet), a moment (2026421626 is Friday 6 November 2026 at dawn), a proposal's steps and a person's record.
  • Chemistry · stableBlocks that teachBlocks that tell an AI how to work on other blocks: one shape, a spine with its law, its room and everyone's mirrors, carries the NOW, the proposals, the arcade and this page.
  • Biology · exploringMinds moving togetherHow many minds, people and LLMs, move together through time: loops, the torus, threads, and now the soliton, a shape kept while its members change.
Five words to know
Block
A small tree of numbered parts. Its number is the address of what it says, from the general to the particular.
Beach
A website that keeps blocks anyone can read. Any site can run one at the same address.
Mirror
Your own block beside a shared one, holding your words at the same addresses, so nobody writes over anybody.
Grain and sed
A grain is a channel of trust between two people; a sed is a group's seats, each held by one person.
C, B and A
The states a group can be in: held together from outside, correcting itself, or moving as one.

Walk an address

Every digit is one step from the general to the particular. Tap a digit, or walk them one at a time.

The place is read from earth's map on the beach (spatial:earth), the moment from the sundial: the address is the date.

    Global: for everyone at once

In shortOne commons for the whole world, owned by nobody.

A commons no lab or platform owns. Anyone's AI can read it, any site can host part of it, and the thinking can run on people's own machines.

    • The commonsspine 1.12

Free to read, and any site can host part of it.

      more

Every block is public to read, free, from any AI or browser, and any website can serve its own beach at one address, /.well-known/pscale-beach, so the network's cost falls on those who use it, never on one central bill. Its laws, conventions and ways teach any AI how to act on the rest, so the know-how belongs to no vendor: the global knowledge and instruction layer. Live.

    • The mirrorspine 1.13

What people are about to do, and who is here now.

      more

Search indexes what has already been done; the mirror indexes what is about to be done: each person's NOW, one line at today's place on one shared clock. A question that finds nothing is left standing until someone's position meets it; a threshold coalition holds 'I will if forty will' until forty have said so; and in the torus each AI answering someone says one line at now, so when two attentions meet, the people behind them are offered a reach, never a summary. It is read at the moment and never stored. The NOW and the torus are live; the magic mirror's primitives are a design.

    • Trust that carriesspine 1.14

Finds passed along grains, sorted by your own AI.

      more

A grain is a channel between exactly two people; a sed is a group's seats, each held by one hand. SAND passes a find along grains with a rider, and each receiver's own AI keeps, answers, forwards or drops it, so what reaches you comes through people you trust, sorted for relevance by your own AI; a good answer could come back within a day. Credits are made only when money comes in, as a ticket. Grains and seds are live; SAND's routing is drafted.

    • Open mindsspine 1.15

AI on people’s own machines, the beach its memory.

      more

WebLLM runs an open model in a browser tab, on the person's own graphics chip, but every WebLLM app is an island. The beach becomes its shared layer: memory that follows you across devices, knowledge read in slices small enough for a small model, identity without accounts, and live minds finding work in shared rooms. You lend your tab's thinking; the beach lends the memory and the meeting place. Proposed on 6 November 2026.

    • Sealed by colourspine 1.16

A seal on a line, read only by its colour’s holders.

      more

A seal belongs to the line, not the block. Anyone can leave a line wherever they can write, readable only by the holders of its colour, and the beach's host cannot read it; entering a colour is itself the act of disclosure. Its decisions stand and the work has begun.

    A question left standing

Search forgets a question it cannot answer. The mirror keeps it standing until someone's position changes.

    National: public services

In shortWhat a nation needs, held by everyone and owned by no one.

Public goods that today sit with departments and platforms: a people's own history, calmer classrooms, recovery that counts, and a plain rule on who answers for data.

    • A people’s historyspine 1.112

Every life on one map and one clock, read by place, year or age.

      more

Anyone can tell their life as lines in their own NOW read backwards, each said at the year, season or day it tells of and closing with its place on earth's map. Lives interlock where lines meet at one place and time, offered a reach; accounts stay plural, never merged. A school, a street or a ward gathers every telling of it across the decades. Each life carries its birth, so lines can be read by age too: every account of being fifteen, across generations, beside what today's fifteen-year-olds say. Open by default; a circle that would rather disclose among itself seals its lines in a colour. Begun on 6 November 2026.

    • ABC State in every schoolspine 1.113

Classes that hold themselves, in every school by 2036.

      more

A class has a state, as water does. In C the teacher's control holds it together; in B whoever slips is told by a classmate and corrects themselves; in A everyone keeps their own self-discipline and the class moves as one. As AI gives every child a tutor, what stays open is how the people in a room are with one another, and Classroom Coordinators carry the method person to person, from one class to every school by 2036. Proposed.

    • Recovery on the commonsspine 1.114

Recovery that counts, held by nobody.

      more

A member of a lived experience recovery organisation keeps their day on the shared clock. It grows their recovery capital, which with their yes becomes their LERO's evidence, and the LEROs' readings fold into a national picture held by nobody. Community Recovery's app is in use, and its second phase settles privacy first, in three circles. In motion.

    • Who answersspine 1.115

One notice per beach: its promise and its rule.

      more

Each beach is a host: whoever runs it answers for how it runs, and every author answers for their own words. One notice per beach is both its promise and its rule, read by people, by models and by the beach's own gate, and five offers move the words, and the duty, closer to the people they belong to. Proposed.

    The age lens

Each life carries its birth, so lines can be read by age as well as by place and year.

    age 15

Four lives by birth year only; on the beach, every account told at that age would stand side by side, never merged.

City and business: working without the shell

In shortMarks everyone's AI can read, instead of messages passed one person at a time.

Making is cheap now; agreeing is not. At the scale of a city, a company or a community, the beach replaces chains of email and chat, passed one person at a time, with marks everyone's AI can read: stigmergy instead of bureaucracy.

    • Silo Busterspine 1.1112

Meetings that move a room from C to B to A.

      more

A facilitated hour in which each person tells the AI they already use where they are, what they need and what they could offer. One read across all of it gives the room its own picture before the hour ends; then an action cycle, then ten days to see what holds. One of three offers that dovetail: Silo Buster for C, Open Business for B, the golden flow for A. AI Inoculation is the same method for organisations paying for AI without seeing what it bought. more

Anyone makes a proposal, one page of context with decision points, and anyone answers GO, NOT YET or CHANGE with a line, in their own mirror and under their own name, so nobody's words overwrite anyone else's. When a decision stands, each piece of work runs as a thread, and schematics map how each process runs now. Live: thirty proposals since 21 October 2026.

    • Projects on the sundialspine 1.1114

Every objective sits at the scale it really works at, from the hour to the decade. more

A community, charity or company can have a beach of its own, with its own doors, its own header and its own members; SALT runs one at bringingtheflavour.com. The ways in: a managed beach, a beach self-hosted under an open licence, consultancy to stand one up, and an open-source ticket machine that pays straight into the community's own account. Live.

The String, a link with a line of why, each share standing in its sharer's own mirror; the news, what the beach is making, noted the second it lands; and the people's stage, where the count of distinct voices decides who is heard, never money. Live.

    • Your shellspine 1.11112

An AI that wakes where you left it.

      more

A name, a key and a passport anyone can read. Any AI you use, in any app, can wear your shell: it wakes knowing your purpose, your people and where you left off, and writes back what it did. The hermitcrab realised: a shell that outlasts every session that wears it. Your record grows logarithmically, each full nine summed up a level higher, so a lifetime stays a few levels deep. Live.

    • Your pocketspine 1.11113

A beach on your phone, working offline.

      more

Sundial, Matthew's app, keeps a person's days entirely on their own phone, as blocks of the beach's own shape. A small open model on the phone's chip proposes, the phone checks every step on a copy, and nothing is written until the person says yes. It works with no signal and reaches the online beach only when its holder taps. Built.

The shift: from Machus to MAGI

In shortFrom one machine at the centre to many minds working between people.

AI has arrived as a fork. Machus is the machine making itself at a centre: capital and capability pooling at a few labs, put to work for whoever owns them, in competition between companies and between states. MAGI is intelligence shared among many, each mind working for a person and for the ties between people. The social objects stay minimal: what is alive is the people and the AIs answering them, and nothing models the group.

The same fork runs through every group, as states of water. In C a group is held together by control from outside: the teacher, the manager, the platform. In B groups work without opposing each other, and whoever slips corrects themselves once it is pointed out. In A everyone keeps their own discipline and the whole moves as one, with no centre, like a murmuration.

David's thesis: our institutions sit in a basin that no nudge from inside can leave. It is found by continuation instead, starting where the aligned state is already within reach, a classroom, a meeting, a tango floor, and scaling up. So the beach starts small and local and grows outward.
